The herbal doctor coated some medicine on a stick and stuck it in my nose for about 30 minutes. It was very painful but 3 days later, he pulled out 1 large polyps on each nasal passage then the others came out a day later. Had to take antibiotics to prevent infections for a week. The polyps came out in 2007 and they never came back. the pain was worth it even though surgery would have been easier.

By the time I got to the operating room, the polyps had shrunk. Mine come and go but they haven't been disappearing much lately.

Go to the Alabama Dept of Rehab services and do the paperwork and get the ball rolling--they will pay everything. their job is to get you well and back to work. But it was the only course of action I had and it worked-I am free of the cyst and can smell,breathe and taste once again

The salivary gland is still in place, but my mucocele was only about 7mm in diameter. Smaller than the one in the video. One of the issues with this lesion is that the damaged feeding salivary glands should be removed also to minimize the risk of it returning. I hope for you that you will not have it come back. I would encourage others with this lesion to refrain from a similar approach. My only "share" in this is the health and safety of patients.

Using this video, a scalpel, surgical scissors, a clean bathroom, and clove oil as an anesthetic (didn't work as well as I would have liked) I removed a muccocele slightly smaller than this one on myself. @unknown333SURE Mine must've been quite big then. I probably didn't realise the size because it'd been there for 2-3months and I'd got used to it. People were always shocked though if I showed it to them! It took about two weeks to heal fully, and 1 month on I still can't feel my lip properly. There's numbess all the way from the top of my chin to my bottom lip and the scar inside is quite big. Ahh well, it serves me right for chewing my lip in the first place!!

@falafelhotdog my surgery only took like two minutes. my doc just snipped it off after numbing me. he did it right then and there; i didn't even have to make an appointment for surgery. after snipping off the mucocele, he burned the wound so i didn't get any stiching. the mucocele grew back after a few days though... but a daily ritual of rinsing my mouth w/salt water made it go away!

Jamie had his Op on Friday, The surgeon said it went smoothly even though they found an anomaly in his chest which lengthened the op somewhat. He spent 24 hours in Post-Op care, and now he is in Intensive care, he is off oxygen, has had the chest drains removed and may even be sent to the normal ward tonight. Kids what amazing little fighters they are :-D

I got this surgery done at 8 days old, then I got a Correction of the Aorta Repaired when I was 3 years old. All because of a whole in my heart. But I'm proud of my scars, and we explain to my younger cousins and my niece that I have a "zipper and pocket" (names we gave the scars). I'm now 19 and very active. :) I've very happy for this surgery and only have to see my heart doctor every 2 years. It's great.

My daughter had this surgery when she was 4 months old. Her VSD was 7mm and she was " struggling to strive" Dr Leonard Bailey at Loma Linda did an absolutely great job getting her patched up. Today (9 months later) there are no signs of heart disease. her heart is normal with no murmur or abnormalities. watching this video back before the surgery really helped me to understand what was going to happen.

Hello Dr. Bruke, I think God direct me to your site. I have a 3 year old daughter turning 4 this March. She was diagnosed to have VSD a week after I delivered her. Since then, her Doctor advised to have her an open heart surgery to correct the defect. As a single mom, I was so confused, broke and afraid what might happen to my child because she was so young to have such surgery.
